Been to Burning Man Before?
Yes, 2014 & 2015 camping with PolyParadise
2014 - Virgin Year I was fortunate to have been given an early entry pass, helped to load the camp truck in Phoenix, then see how it all came together on the Playa under the direction of Scotto. The infrastructure of the PP Camp is incredible and the campers are all friendly and unique individuals. The rain storm was a surprise and made for a muddy day or two, but overall, my first year was a great learning experience. I fully expected my first BM to be a bucket list check off and told myself…….been there……done that…..over. But about half way through the year something began to pull me back to Black Rock City.
2015 - Second year with PolyParadise was different from my first year. I had a friend with me from Nebraska who endured the two day dust white out with me. It is a bit hard to experience your own thing at BM when you have someone with you who is a virgin. I did experience a change at my second BM and did not expect to return to the Playa for 2016. BM always falls on my wife’s birthday and our wedding anniversary…….2016 being our 49th anniversary. However, she noticed such a big change in the way I related to her that she said that I should return to my other home.
2016 I fully expect to be more involved in volunteering for early arrival camp set up if I’m wanted, Temple Guardian, Welcome Gate, Human Carcass Wash, and other things as they present themselves. I can’t wait to get back to the Playa and see old acquaintances and make new friends.
