Camped with PolyParadise Before?
Yes. This will be our sixth year! Poly Paradise is our home within the big home of Black Rock City.

Why Burning Man? Wow... where can I start. It started about 18 years ago when I hooked up with Knotch...he had the strong desire to go for a long time, and finally in 2008 we decided to go to a regional in Arizona...Toast 2008 to see if Burning Man would be something we both would want to go to. We loved Toast!! So we came home from the event and went online and bought tickets to Burning Man 2008. There was no such thing that year as being a sold out event the first two hours, days or months. Then we decided to find a camp to camp with. We met Yardz at Toast and he created a theme camp of his own for 2008 which was Camp Incendiary Nation, so we camped there. It was at 2:00 and C...and survived. And from that moment on, we wanted to go to Burning Man every year, and did except for 2013..the year that Knotch recovered from his broken leg and twisted knee. In 2009, we found Poly Paradise, and had met Scotto and WildChild at a Holidaze and have camped with them ever since.

Volunteer on the Playa? I am pretty sure that helping set up Poly Paradise and helping with the tear down constitutes volunteer on the Playa.

PolyParadise Favorite Moments? The People!; Setting up the Village...watching it start as jig saw puzzle pieces laying all around that fit exactly in one spot all together to create the whole camp; Watching the people arrive and filling in all the empty spaces; Wedding, birthday and other celebrations that occur during the week; And again the interactions with the people that camp there; Last year when we had the big thunder storm and I slipped and fell in the main camp area and was covered in playa mud...that was amazing.

Toughest thing: Is when it is time to tear down the Camp of Poly Paradise, and see it get packed up in the big U Haul....we took a time lapse of it in 2012....and it was done in fairly quick time, but then when it is done...it is sad. When Scotto and WildChild drive off and away.

Best thing: the minute we lock our outside gate and begin our travel up there

Burning Man Advice: Leave expectations and judgments at home! And pick up after yourself at all times!!!! And plant a smile on your face at all times. Smile and nod a lot. Also realize that although we all kind of look alike out in the playa...especially during a white out, we all come from many walks of life in the real world...some would amaze you! Like some famous rock star might be standing next to you in line getting ice dressed maybe similar to you, or not dressed at all, and the chances would be great that you would not even know it!
