Camper Bios - 2015
Renee
- no playa name yet (at least not one that's
stuck)
Where do you call home?
Kaysville, UT
Been to Burning Man before? When?
(2008, 2010-2012)
Camped with PolyParadise Before?
(2008, 2010) Can't wait to be a part of it again!!
Why Burning Man? – The first year I went I left saying "I'm never coming back!!" and then about 2 months later I found myself missing it! After going the next three times I realized there is just no place on Earth like it, where I feel free;
Free to be myself, free to express myself without fear of judgment. It's the only place I don't feel self conscious. I love the feeling of acceptance and giving. It's a truly spiritual place for me and also THE best party I've ever attended!!
Volunteer on the Playa? –I am pretty shy by nature but I did volunteer for the lamp lighters one year and it was pretty amazing! I am always willing to help out however I can to whoever needs it!
Toughest thing: The hardest part is saying goodbye to friends, new and old, knowing I won't see some of them again for a long time. And then driving back into the default world is quite a shock to the system! I remember the first year when we pulled into the first gas station after leaving and I realized I had to put on a bra! lol
Burning Man Advise: Be ready for any and all emotions to crop up and don't be afraid to talk to someone if you need a shoulder.
Also, realize that BM is a spontaneous place so don't over plan your week. Let the adventures happen! OH! and night on playa is MAGICAL!!
