Camper Bios - 2012
Name:
Kevin
Age: 56
Been to Burning Man before? When?
2010 was my first, and oh so awesome, year. I camped
with Playa Surfers and had a ringside seat to the
Esplanade. I rate this week as one of the three most
awesome events in my life (I'll share the others later).
2011 was my second year and I camped with Menage a Trois;
a trio of small groups hailing from LA, Ojai and
Seattle. We built an art car; a moving van repurposed as
an old fashioned steam locomotive named 'The Chooch'.
Who I Am- I grew up in NY, Mexico City
and So Cal. Been living in Los Angeles since 1977. I
spent my entire 20's living in an ashram and have
continued to practice yoga, meditation, chanting for the
last 35 years (I'm a kirtan drummer). I became a general
contractor and spent 18 years doing public works.
Subsequently I had a career shift and became a
professional stock trader for the last 12 years. I'm
ready for something new . . . ideas?
Why Burning Man?
Why the hell not?!? I
was blown away by the quality of people I've met on the
playa and the sense of unity, community, and shared
purpose. It's also undoubtedly the greatest party on
earth. It's not always perfect but I think the people
who organize and put this all together are amazing
people who do a phenomenal job. I can't believe that a
few hundred dollars ticket gets you entre to this world.
Why PolyParadise? I looked at a lot of
camps and I really liked the structure and programs you
provide. I'm not looking for a drink and party camp. I
spent my first two years more as a spectator and now I
want to be of service. I also happen to think that
polyamory is way cool . . . if I could ever figure out
how to make it happen!
