Camper Bios - 2012
Karen
("Hazumu")
55-year-old Transwoman (male-to-female)
Burner Virgin (Burgin)
Home - Sacramento, California. But I've
lived in SoCal, Yuma AZ, Maryland, Japan, Bosnia, and
traveled to England, Korea, Germany, Thailand, Philippines ,
Guam, Diego Garcia, Alaska, British Columbia…
I'm retired from the military, where I was an Aviation
Ordnanceman, Admin, Logistics, Combat Engineer, and finally,
a Military Broadcaster/Journalist.
I play drums, and spent two years in a 'Holiday Inn' road
band, traveling around the western United States. I helped
design/build/adjust/operate the band sound reinforcement
system.
I shoot and edit video (I'm debating whether to bring a
camera to my first BM…)
I've lived a life in two genders. I had my epiphany in 2005.
Like they say, though - If you've met one transperson,
you've met one transperson.
Why attend BM? I'm looking for a new tribe.
I want to meet out-of-the-box-thinking people. I want
beginner mind to sneak up on me when I least expect it.
Maybe a Hero’s Journey will have me...
Why Poly Paradise? I’ve found that people
who are sex-positive and sex-open-minded are more accepting
of and comfortable with a transperson in their midst. I’ve
had the same feelings of having found my tribe and of having
‘come home’ while attending Dark Odyssey and other
sex-positive events. I’ve also noticed that
sex-positive-event attendees tend to be more intelligent,
creative, and emotionally open.
P.S., “Hazumu” is not a Playa name, just a handle I chose
for myself for reasons best told over a responsibly-consumed
adult beverage.
