PolyParadise 2004 - Wrap-up
Tuesday September 14, 2004
Thank you all....
Thanks to each and every PolyBurn Camper for making
BM '04 & PolyParadise such an awesome success.
We are a diverse group from far reaching cities,
though we come together at BM as a group of
Polyamorous folk to share love, respect, & stories
of our trials and tribulations in non-mainstream
lifestyle choices.
Thank you all for dealing with our limited Real
Estate issues and for scrunching together to make
sure we all fit and all had room for our Structures,
Tents and a place to call home on the Playa...
Thanks go to StrokeGreg for heading the Human
Carcass Wash. With each passing year the HCW
continues to be one of the highlights on the Playa
for MANY BRC Citizens. We attract more and more
folks to the HCW each year...I estimate that 150+
people went through the HCW each day. With the
addition of the 20'x20' Shade Structure we were able
to contain the area of the HCW and keep the
attendees out of the sun...Thanks to everyone else
who helped with Setup & Cleanup and to those that
ran the event each day.
Next year though we will request to NOT be near
'Body Painting Camp' which was located down the
street. There were many Painted people who came to
the HCW to wash off the paint not during HCW hours.
Though we can aid in this by removing the HCW
supplies from the shade structure after the event is
over.
The HCW is a mainstay of the Playa...Never let the
HCW die. It is such an awesome event. The NO CAMERA
ZONE signs seemed to work some, though it just goes
to show that people DO NOT read or understand.
Thanks to all for looking out for those that could
not quite get it.
Thanks to WildChild | StrokeGreg | Lynn & Costello
for leading PHT, and sharing their life experiences
with those seeking information about Poly and
spreading Infinite Love across the Playa. I know it
is difficult to have a discussion group with
competing loud music sources, though you all made it
work each day. There was at least 20 people in the
discussion each day...My Hats off to all of you...
Thanks go to Water Log...a.k.a...Steve for his work
on the Water Reclamation Project. To provide this
service to PolyParadise is one thing, but to provide
it to all camps in Shangri-La Village is quite
another. HATS OFF TO WATER LOG...What was the final
number of Gallons processed? Steve your efforts to
allow this water to be given to the Playa deserve
much applause, look forward to seeing what you come
up with for next year. Making a definitive cutoff
for Grey Water processing helped get the project to
its end and not have Steve processing large amounts
of water on Monday...
Thanks as well to Steve for the awesome Adlib song
about Water Ecology at the Village Meeting on
Thursday..."Conservation, Preservation...Guard
Mother Earth...The only way this will work is to
spread the word"...A very catchy tune with an
awesome message...Look forward to seeing the
Video...
Thanks to Da Vinci, Heatseeker, Magnus and everyone
else that helped with the Grey Water Project...Your
efforts are greatly appreciated...
Thanks to Steve for bringing the PolyWomb structure.
I appreciated your efforts in getting the structure
up, though we never got it going beyond that....More
on that later...
Thanks to Lynn & Costello for providing the Cuddle
Pool...It is such as awesome space...I enjoyed its
comforts several times...THANK YOU!!!
Thanks to Da Vinci, WildChild, Glacier & Kathe for
providing the awesome ART that adorned our
Camp...The NASA (Nasty Alien Sex Adventure), Milky
Way & Ring Around your Anus was amazing...I so
enjoyed creating it with you here in Phx...and had a
GREAT time Burning it on Sunday...
Thanks to all the Playa Newbies in our group for all
of your help and for getting into the BM &
PolyParadise spirit. Your work and participation did
not go unnoticed as well as all the new folks to
PolyParadise. I hope you found the Theme Camp
experience a good one, and will consider returning
to the Playa with us next year...
Thanks to everyone who provided & prepared food for
Community Meals, Washing Dishes, all who helped out
when it was needed, for taking garbage home with
you, for knowing what building community & sharing
community is all about.
Thanks go to Master Kitchen Coordinator Kathe who
kept us in snacks galore and me quite busy...
Thanks to Kingsley for being the 'Czar de
Garbage'...I appreciated your efforts in managing
the garbage and making sure everyone took some
garbage home with them...
Thanks to Piper for your friendship and for bearing
with me as I moved your Car and Tent around several
times during the week to make things work and have
your vehicle in a place so you were able come and go
as you needed.

get to spend much time talking with you all, but
VERY much enjoyed & appreciated your contributions
to out camp space...
Thanks go to BigMike & Ginger...I appreciated
spending time with you and having a haven in your RV
out of the Wind & Dust...I so enjoyed having you as
part of our Camp again...

meet you...hope you will join us again next year....
Thanks to Jody, Ali & Sabina for your energy and
keeping us all with some fine 'Baked Goods'...
Thanks to Trouble & Autowitch for the amazing Dome
structure...I never got to spend any time inside it,
but enjoyed helping out building it & of course
taking it down...

the Grey Water Project...Remember 'NOT HERE'...
Bob...I hope that your shoulder injury gets better
soon and that BM, The Playa & PolyParadise are again
on your agenda for next year...
Thanks to Val, Marci, Jeff, Phil, Jody & Ric for
joining us this year...I hope that through all the
RV issues you encountered, everyone in your group
had an amazing time and would join us again...
Thank you BadDoddy for providing the 'Behavior
Modification Zone'...An awesome addition to our
Camp...
Thanks to Kyoti & LuLu for providing an awesome
shade structure that not only provided shade but was
a beautiful work of Art as well...
Thanks to T & Randi for your understanding in your
placement options as you arrived so late in the
week...I hope that you both would consider camping
with us again and maybe trying to make it earlier in
the week to enjoy more of what the Playa has to
offer...I very much look forward to seeing all the
pics you were able to take with 'The Frame' you were
carrying around...
Thanks to John, Nathan & Bek for your contributions
to our camp...I hope that Bek had an awesome BM
Virgin experience and would consider returning next
year...
Thanks to Jade, Abi & Octavia for helping out, being
a part of our space and your energy level...It was
awesome to see you all again...
Thanks to Reaps & Erika for sharing your spirit &
energy...I so enjoy hanging out with you and being
around your awesome vivacity...
Thanks to ALL the Arizona PolyParadise Campers...Da
Vinci, WildChild Glacier, Princess Twinkle Toes,
BadDoggy, xxybadgirl, Kyoti, LuLu & Heatseeker...It
was SO very awesome to have so many of our AZ family
in camp with us...I hope that you would all consider
camping with us again...
Thanks to all who helped haul burnables to the Burn
Pyres on Sunday...
Thank you all for bringing Drinking Water and HCW
Water...With additional donations from HCW
participants we had plenty of water all week for our
use as well as our Camp Events...
It was a pleasure and honor for Kathe & I to provide
the Infrastructure we enjoyed on the Playa. I
thought the 50'x20' worked out quite well, gave us
plenty of space for the kitchen and communal space.
A special Hello to Zhahai who was On-Playa pre-event
Friday & Saturday...It was awesome to see you and
get to spend some time talking with you at the
Greeters Station @ 3am while you got Playa-Net up
and running...Best of luck to you & Cascade in your
move to California...
Thank you all that were on the Playa on Monday and
available to help in the Camp Teardown. Your efforts
were greatly appreciated...
A VERY SPECIAL thanks to Da Vinci (Don), Glacier
(Doug) & WildChild (Ginny) for ALL of their help in
packing the truck in Phoenix and for ALL the help
they provided Kathe & I throughout the week....YOU
are ALL VERY SPECIAL people in my life and I could
not have run the camp as efficiently without you...
A VERY VERY VERY SPECIAL thanks to my Wife & Life
Partner Kathe...Without your Support & Love not of
what we accomplished would have been possible...Love
you so very much...
To those that camped elsewhere or who were unable to
make BM this year, your spirit was always part of
PolyParadise, and know that you are deeply missed &
loved in this group.
It was my pleasure and privilege to be and to serve
as Camp Daddy and would gladly do so again. Though
in the end all of you served that role as well,
looking out for each other being there for each
other. A Scattering of applause to all of you as
well.
PolyParadise Financial Report & What worked/What did
NOT work to follow under separate cover...
There will be an SLV Village Wrap-up meeting on
Tuesday 9/14 of which I will be a part of and will
provide feedback to this group when it is
available...
Please return to the list during the year, let this
awesome feeling we all have in our hearts for BM,
PolyParadise and each other stay as a beacon of a
place we can share and be together again.
Only 352 days until we Burn again. Each of those
days will have thoughts of all you and how good I
feel having each of you as my friends and part of my
family.
Playa Love,
Scotto
